This 11-day fly and drive tour of South Africa is the perfect way to see some of the country’s most iconic destinations. You’ll start in Cape Town, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. From there, you’ll travel to the Garden Route, a scenic stretch of coastline that’s home to stunning beaches, lush forests, and dramatic cliffs. You’ll also visit the Kruger National Park, one of the best places in the world to see wildlife.
Arrive in Cape Town and transfer to the hotel.
Transfer service is included. In the afternoon, take a guided tour of the city on the * City Site Seeing Red Bus (the red Pullman) https://www.citysightseeing.co.za/cape-town and, weather permitting, climb Table Mountain (officially considered the seventh wonder of the world).
A revolving cable car quickly connects the base to the summit every 30 minutes.

Pick up the car at the AVIS office in the city and depart to explore the Cape of Good Hope peninsula. Hout Bay, Seal Island (the seal island), Cape Point (the southernmost tip of Africa where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans ideally meet), the colony of the friendly “Jack Ass” penguins of Boulders Beach and the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens are among the main attractions of the day.
After breakfast, depart to explore the romantic and picturesque Wine Valleys “Cape Winelands” of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek where, in addition to admiring the suggestive landscape, you can also visit various wineries and taste the excellent local wines.
Free day to visit the fabulous beaches of Cape Town or to explore the city center and visit the Bo Kaap neighborhood, with the small mosques and buildings dating back to the Dutch occupation period; The South African Ethnographic-Naturalistic Museum. The museum overlooks the Public Garden “Company Gardens” which was the first garden built by the East India Company to supply vegetables to passing ships and is now a splendid garden where you can walk among centuries-old trees and squirrels. The Parliament House and the Cathedral of St. George also overlook the garden. You can continue the tour of the city through the colorful green market square and shop along the beautiful Long street among vintage shops, ancient bookstores and trendy bars.
Today you will leave Cape Town to begin your journey to the Garden Route. The first stop is Hermanus, a small town overlooking the Atlantic Ocean known as the South African capital for the sighting of the majestic Southern Right whales. Here in Hermanus, between June and November it is in fact possible to spot these huge cetaceans that all year round approach the coast of South Africa to give light to their little ones. Near Hermanus is the town of Gansbaai which is the town from where the special boats depart for the sighting of the white shark from which it is possible to do “Shark Cage Diving” (dive in the cages attached to the boats to see the white shark up close). Departure for the renowned Garden Route for the town of Knysna (considered the gem of the Garden Route). Leaving Gansbaai, before continuing in the direction of George and Knysna. If you wish, you can also head first to Cape Agulhas to visit the southernmost point of Africa and then continue inland and/or make a stop at the picturesque town of Swellendam. During your stay in Knysna, we recommend visiting the town of Plettenberg Bay and taking the boat trip to Featherbed Nature Reserve. A boat will take you, through the lagoon, to the opening to the ocean (about 25 minutes) to an island where Featherbed Nature Reserve is located. From here you will be transferred in special vehicles to the highest area of the reserve. During the journey, you will stop at a viewpoint where a specialized guide will tell you about the history, fauna and flora of Featherbed Nature Reserva. Then, at your choice, you can walk (about 2 km) through the reserve or continue the journey with the vehicles available. The tour lasts about 4 hours and includes lunch.
Departure from Knysna to Storms River and Tsitsikamma National Park. This
Depart from Knysna and drive to Port Elizabeth.
Along the way, pass through Tsitsikamma National Park and the Tsitsikamma Forest. This national park encompasses a long stretch of coastline and is made up of rainforests that extend to the sea.
After passing Port Elizabeth, continue in the direction of Grahamstown until you reach Amakhala Game Reserve. Amakhala Game Reserve is a malaria-free private reserve that spans over 18,000 acres of land and contains 11 different lodges.
In the coming days, you will have the opportunity to meet the "Big 5" (lions, leopards, rhinoceroses, elephants, and buffalo) in their natural habitat on board 4x4 vehicles with expert rangers.
