This 8-day tour is the perfect way to experience the best of South Africa. You’ll start your trip in Cape Town, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Explore the city’s many attractions, including Table Mountain, Robben Island, and the V&A Waterfront.
After Cape Town, you’ll head to the Mpumalanga province, home to the Kruger National Park. Go on game drives in search of the Big Five (lions, leopards, elephants, rhinoceroses, and buffalo).
Your tour will also include a visit to the Panorama Route, a scenic route that winds through the Drakensberg Mountains. See the Blyde River Canyon, one of the largest canyons in the world, and the Three Rondavels, a trio of rock formations that resemble traditional African huts.
This tour is the perfect way to experience the beauty, wildlife, and culture of South Africa. Don’t miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
Here are some of the benefits of taking this tour:
**If you’re looking for an unforgettable trip to South Africa, this tour is the perfect choice for you!
Arrival in Cape Town and transfer to the hotel. Transfer service included. In the afternoon, you can take an orientation tour of the city on the City Sightseeing Red Bus (the red double-decker bus). Weather permitting, you can also go up Table Mountain (officially considered the seventh wonder of the world). A rotating cable car connects the base to the summit every 30 minutes. Once at the top, you can admire the beautiful panorama of Table Bay and the city. * Tickets for the Red Bus (cost R 190) and the cable car (cost Rand 360 per person) to be purchased on-site. Hotel: THE PRESIDENT HOTEL 4 **** Room type: Standard Double - Overnight stays include: Breakfast
After breakfast, meet your Italian guide in the hotel lobby and depart for the Cape of Good Hope Peninsula excursion, which offers incredibly scenic landscapes. Hout Bay, Seal Island (home to seals), Cape Point, the southernmost tip of Africa where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans theoretically meet, the colony of adorable "Jack Ass" penguins at Boulders Beach, and the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens are among the main attractions of the day. * Entrance tickets to Cape Point - Boulders Beach - Kirstenbosch are not included.
Pick up your rental car at the AVIS/HERTZ office in the city and plan your activities for the day: We recommend a visit to the romantic wine valleys of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, where, besides enjoying the picturesque and charming scenery, you can also visit various wineries and taste their wines. Between June and October, we recommend an excursion to Hermanus (a small town along the coast where you can spot Southern Right Whales, which approach the South African coast during this time of year), located about 90 minutes from Cape Town.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport, return the rental car at the Avis/Hertz office at the airport, and take a domestic flight to Nelspruit. Upon arrival in Nelspruit, pick up your rental car at the Avis/Hertz office at the airport and depart for Hazyview. The distance between the airport and Hazyview is just over 70 km. Hotel: GECKO LODGE 3 *** Room type: Standard Double - Overnight stays include: Breakfast
Enjoy the day exploring the Panorama Route and the Blyde River Canyon. The high plateau on which Johannesburg stands descends here, along the eastern cliffs of the Drakensberg mountain range, for over 1000 meters, creating green gorges and canyons. This area offers breathtaking landscapes and views. Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondavels, God's Window, Pilgrim Rest, and Bourke's Luck Potholes are among the main attractions of the area. In this part of Mpumalanga, you will also find the towns of Sabie, Graskop, and the village of Pilgrim's Rest. Pilgrim's Rest is the place where, just before the discovery of the gold reef that led to the establishment of Johannesburg, the first gold rush in the history of South Africa took place. Between 1874 and 1878, over 1500 men extracted alluvial gold here, valued at over £1,500,000!
Check out and depart for Mjejane Game Reserve. The distance from Hazyview to Mjejane Game Reserve is about 140 km, and the journey takes approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes. After leaving Hazyview, you will drive on the R40 towards White River and then on the N4 towards Malelane (towards Komatiport). Make sure to arrive at Mjejane Game Reserve by 2:00 PM, as you will have your first exciting safari in special 4x4 vehicles with your ranger in the afternoon. Hotel: MJEJANE RIVER LODGE 4 **** Room type: Standard Double - Overnight stays include: All meals and safaris
Set out at dawn for the first of the two safaris of the day. During the safaris, it's not uncommon to encounter the "Big Five" - Lions, Leopards, Rhinoceroses, Elephants, and Buffaloes - the African mammals considered among the most challenging to hunt. The 4x4 vehicles used by the rangers allow you to get up close to both large and small animals and appreciate them in their natural habitat in a beautifully natural setting.
After breakfast, depart for Nelspruit Airport (KMI Airport), which is about 70 km from your hotel. Return the rental car at the AVIS/HERTZ office at the airport and take a domestic flight to Johannesburg. Upon arrival in Johannesburg, depart for Italy. Dinner and overnight on board.
