Upon arrival at Kasane International Airport you will be greeted by a Chobe Game Lodge ranger/representative and transferred by open safari vehicle to the Chobe Game Lodge located in the Chobe National Park. After check-in, depending on your arrival time, you will go on your first safari in the Chobe National Park with the special 4x4 vehicles driven by your ranger. Your ranger will let you know the exact time of departure. The safari is about 3 hours and the return to the lodge is going to be just after sun set. Chobe Game Lodge Counter-balancing the wilderness are restful, air conditioned, en-suite lodgings. Graceful high arches, quarry tiled floors and barrel-vaulted ceilings create an atmosphere of cool tranquility. Other facilities include a large swimming pool with terrace, a riverside boma area, a stylish bar with an outside terrace, an expansive deck offering magnificent views over the Chobe River as well as conference facilities for business travelers. All meals are catered for in various locations throughout the lodge including the terrace, boma and riverfront deck. The rooms at Chobe Game Lodge include air-conditioning and mini-bar as well as en-suite bathrooms with a large bath and separate shower.
Wake up early, your ranger will let you know the exact time, and departure for the morning safari. During the safaris your guide will lead you along the river, following tracks in the bush in search of wildlife. Sightings of herds of Elephants and large herds of Buffalo are common in this area. Impalas, Giraffes and a few species of Antelopes are present in abundance throughout the park. Predators such as Lions, Wild Dogs and Leopards are less visible because they tend to hide to ambush their preys. Chobe Game Lodge has open 4x4 vehicles, all driven by experienced female rangers. Many of the vehicles are electric and silent, with no CO2 emissions. During the morning safari the ranger will stop in a safe location and you will experience a bush coffee break in the middle of the savannah ! The morning safari duration is over 3 hours and when you return to the lodge breakfast will be served. After lunch, the ranger will let you know the exact time, you will be taken to the river front where you will experience water-based safari along the Chobe River. The boat safaris offer a unique experience to fully experience the beauty of the Chobe River and admire its incredible wildlife. Thanks to the flexibility in seating arrangements and the flat deck, the boats used for river safaris allow all passengers full visibility regardless of where they are seated. Ideal for nature photography enthusiasts, with ample space for equipment and the freedom to photograph from any angle. Chobe Game Lodge boats operate mainly on solar energy: a clean and silent way to interact with the surrounding nature! Wildlife viewing on a river safari in Chobe is unsurpassed ! Elephantsoften roam on the riverbanks, Hipposgather in the small lagoons along the river as well as Crocodiles, hundreds of antelopes together with Zebras & Giraffes head towards the water and hang out along the riverbanks to graze and drink. With such a concentration of animals the river is also a great attraction for the predators such as Lion sand sometimes Hyenas. The Chobe Riverfront The Chobe River forms the northern boundary of the Chobe National Park, renowned for its diverse and abundant game viewing opportunities. This section of the park is best known for its dense concentration of wildlife including elephant and hippo populations, but the waters attract all manner of game including large herds of buffalo and the lions that prey on them. A visit to this area guarantees close encounters with an array of African wildlife. Visitors can look forward to some exciting activities such as: driving along the game-dotted river banks in daily game drives and cruising along the river on an electric solar-powered river safari. After the morning safari and breakfast you will be transferred to the Kasane airport on time for the light aircraft flight to Camp Okavango. Your ranger will let you know the exact time for the transfer and for the flight. The duration of the flight between Kasane and Camp Okavango is just over 1hr and is a scenic flight over the savannah so keep your camera with you. At your arrival at Camp Okavango you will meet your ranger that will brief you on the exact time of the activities scheduled for you during your stay as well the meal and activities time. Activities on offer from Camp Okavango focus on the traditional delta experience such as the mokoro canoe, boating excursions and guided bush-walks. The Okavango Delta Situated in the northwestern corner of Botswana, the Okavango Delta is a World Heritage Site as it is the largest inland delta in the world. The magnificent Okavango River sprawls out over the dry sands of the Kalahari Desert forming this flourishing waterlogged oasis featuring countless meandering waterways and crystal-clear lagoons studded with water lilies, as well as fertile floodplains and reeded islands inhabited with abundant wildlife. The Okavango Delta stretches over 15000 square kilometers. Commonly spotted animals include lion, rhino, leopard, giraffe, hippos, elephants, crocodiles, and countless species of bird. Camp Okavango Camp Okavango, an exclusive African safari camp is situated on the remote Nxaragha Island. Today you will be moving to the Moremi area. By now you know that all is arranged and taken care by us so that you can relax and enjoy your safari experience in Africa ! Your ranger will let you the exact time of your light aircraft transfer to Camp Moremi. The flight is about 20 minutes long and it is a spectacular flight over the east boundary of the Okavango Delta. Moremi Game Reserve Situated in the east of the Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve ranks as one of the most beautiful reserves in Africa. It covers more than 4871 square kilometers of pristine wilderness, and the varied terrain includes savannah, winding waterways, and dense forest. This diverse ecosystem supports an incredibly wide spectrum of wildlife, ranging from large herds of buffalo, wildebeest and zebra, to the rare sitatunga and lechwe antelope, lion, cheetah and packs of wild dog in the open grasslands. The birdlife is prolific and includes most of the 550 bird species recorded on Botswana’s national bird list. A range of luxury lodges in the reserve offers visitors the perfect base to experience this corner of paradise. Camp Moremi Camp Moremi has a well-deserved legacy in the Botswana tourism industry for delivering the classic African safari experience. Recently completely rebuilt, Camp Moremi is located within Botswana’s world-renowned Moremi Game Reserve, situated on the edge of the Xakanaxa Lagoon in an area known for its spectacular game-viewing opportunities. Game drives conducted in open 4x4 vehicles in the morning and late afternoons, offer excellent game viewing including frequent sightings of lion, leopard and cheetah as well as wild dog. Alternatively, guest can explore thje Xakanaxa Lagoon and surrounding Okavango channels by boating safari.
Time to be scheduled: Light aircraft transfer from Camp Moremi to Maun Airport on time for the connection with your flight to your destination.
